Old Church Organ Fund

The Vicar writes:

It was a great joy that we were able to dedicate the new organ at St Andrew’s New Church in January this year.

That was the same Sunday that we launched our special Year of Celebration, marking the 25th anniversary of the New Church and the 700th anniversary of the first known priest coming to St Andrew’s.

The new organ sounds wonderful, and will greatly enhance our worship for years to come.

We now need to turn our attention to the situation in the Old Church building, where for some years we have been without any satisfactory way of providing music. A new organ has been identified – from the same Norwich - based supplier who helped with the instrument in the New Church.

It will cost around £8,000 – making a total of £27,000 for the two instruments. So far, about £6,000 has been raised.

We could pay the balance from our church reserves, but we believe there may be members of the congregation and of the wider community who would like to have a hand in this and make a personal contribution towards it – particularly in view of our Year of Celebration starting now.

There is much to thank God for! If you wish to take part in this way, please complete the slip in the appeal leaflet and return it in confidence to the Church Office, or simply put it in the Sunday collection bowl labelled clearly for the Organ Fund.

Thank you so much,

Phil Rodd (Vicar)
