Norfolk Churches Trust Bike Ride

Norfolk has the greatest concentration of mediaeval churches anywhere in the world, partly maintained with grants from the Norfolk Churches Trust. This is supported by annual sponsored Bike Rides round Norfolk churches, with the proceeds divided between the riders' (or walkers') nominated churches and the Trust.

Last year, everyone was hoping ‘The Bike Ride’ would be possible and with some trepidation and lots of planning we set up a welcome desk outside St Andrew’s on the second Saturday of September.

Well, it was a bit different of course: no volunteers to smile and sign people in, no refreshments and a quarantine box for borrowed biros.

But it was a good day.

With the generous support of our sponsors, Richard and I and other supporters have now heard that the St Andrew's half share of the total raised, including Gift Aid, was £109. Thank you!

Against all the odds, across Norfolk there was a staggering total raised. We have a very grateful letter of thanks from the finance administrator at the Trust, who reports a record-breaking total of £173,253.

So please book 11 September this year in your diaries, watch for news and join in another brilliant day.
