New to St Andrew's?

If you are thinking of visiting St Andrew's or have recently come along - welcome!

You will find a friendly congregation welcoming people of all ages.

For the full range of our usual services and other activities please check our What's on pages and see below.

There are a several Welcome events during the year to help newcomers meet others and find their place here.

Services

Please look at this page for details of all our current activities.

Services are structured but accessible.

Anyone who receives communion in their own church is welcome to do so at St Andrew's. We encourage anyone who does not wish to receive to come forward in communion services for a prayer of blessing.

Children and Young People

Children and young people have their own meetings.

Children's workshop in the New ChurchSeveral times throughout the year, we run Activity Workshops for ages 5 to 11 with fun, games, craft, learning, music and more. Look out for information in the notices sheet, or posters around church. We also send information out via the local schools.

Access

There is wheelchair access to the Church Hall. There is a portable ramp to give access to the church (which is a listed building). If you find it is not down when you arrive for a service, please ask anyone to fetch a member of the welcome team. If you wish to visit the church at other times, there is one shallow step but the door is heavy and you may find it helpful to bring a companion with you.

A sound loop system is used during services in the New Church.  Service booklets for 10 am Sunday services, hymn books and weekly Notice sheets are available in large print. Since the pandemic, we now also provide Livesteaming of our 10am service. See here for the latest one!

There is a toilet in the vestry at the back of the New Church and there are further toilets in the Church Hall (including one for people with disabilities). (These facilities are only open during services and other events.)

You can see photographs of the inside of the Church here and the Hall here.
